Before we build anything, we need to understand everything. This is where that starts.

FAQs

What is Final Surge, and how do I use it? Final Surge is an easy-to-use online platform that keeps all your training plans, progress, and resources in one place. As a Wild Blue athlete, you’ll find your personalised running program, strength class recordings, and even injury prevention content here. It’s like having your entire coaching team in your pocket, helping you stay organised, track your progress, and crush your running goals.

What happens if I miss a strength class? No stress! The classes are recorded and uploaded to Final Surge, so you can catch up whenever it suits you. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to join a make-up class, that’s an option too. For example, if you’re scheduled for Monday at 6 PM but can’t make it, you can hop into Wednesday's 6 PM class or another time that works better for you. Flexibility is key!

How do the live Q&A sessions work? At regular intervals, we host a live Q&A session with Podiatrist Andy Bryant and Nutritionist Lisa Sherman on Google Meet. Andy is a practising podiatrist with decades of experience. Lisa is a degree qualified nutritionist and ultrarunner herself. You can ask anything; whether it’s a specific injury, running technique, meal planning or something totally unique to you, no question is off-limits. The session runs for an hour, and if you miss it, don’t worry, it’s uploaded to Final Surge so you can catch up anytime.

What equipment do I need for strength classes? Minimal equipment is required to get started. A chair or box will do for most exercises, and while dumbbells or kettlebells are a nice bonus, they’re not essential. For advanced athletes, we recommend having some weights handy to increase the challenge as you progress.

How do you check-in with your members? Every week you'll fill out a short check-in form covering your training, how your body is feeling, and any questions. Your coach reviews it and responds directly - adjusting your programme if needed. You're never just left to get on with it.

What injury prevention resources are included? We’ve got an incredible library of expert-led videos designed to keep you running strong and injury-free. Andy Bryant, an experienced podiatrist, covers topics like bunions, plantar fasciitis, and tendinopathy. We also feature videos from a strength and conditioning coach who trains sub-elite athletes, with advice on managing common running injuries like shin splints, ITB issues, and muscle strains.

What is the WhatsApp community group like? Our WhatsApp group is where day-to-day coaching actually happens. It's where you ask questions, share wins, flag niggles, and get a real response from Tom or Mitch - not a bot, not a template reply. It's also where the broader community connects, which for a lot of members becomes one of the most valuable parts of the programme.

Can you help with injuries or if I need to pause training? Absolutely. If you’re dealing with an injury, we can help reduce recovery time by connecting the diagnosis from your physio or allied health professional and any scans to ensure you come back stronger. For serious injuries or personal circumstances, you can also pause your training plan, we just ask for one week’s notice.
