Got questions about running, coaching, or how Wild Blue Performance Running can help you achieve your goals? We’ve got answers! Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about our services, programs, and community.

General Running & Coaching Services

What can I expect during a coaching call?

Our coaching calls are tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're looking for advice on injury prevention, training strategies, gear recommendations, or race preparation, we provide actionable insights to help you improve as a runner. We will go through your Final Surge and underline any major points, good or bad, and access the trajectory to your goal.

What’s included in an In-Person Running Assessment?

Our detailed running assessments cover every aspect of your running mechanics. We analyse your foot strike, cadence, stride length, posture, sprinting technique, and even your footwear. Plus, you'll receive a PDF analysis to visualise areas for improvement.

Can you help me transition to minimalist footwear or barefoot running?

Yes, we can! Transitioning to minimalist or barefoot running requires proper guidance, and we’ll support you every step of the way with tips on foot strength, running form, and safe adaptation strategies. This is the reason we work with an expert podiatrist who endorses the barefoot/minimalist lifestyle, to give you the resource and confidence you need to transition with care.

Do I need to be an experienced runner to work with you?

Not at all! We welcome runners of all abilities, from beginners to seasoned athletes. Whether you're just starting out or chasing a personal best, we’re here to help you achieve your goals.

Training & Running Plans

Do you offer personalised running plans?

Absolutely. After assessing your current fitness, goals, and running experience, we create tailored running plans designed specifically for you—whether you're training for a race, improving speed, or preventing injuries.

Can you help me prepare for a specific race or distance?

Whether it’s a 5k, marathon, or trail race, we provide targeted training plans and expert advice to ensure you’re race-ready.

How do you design strength and conditioning programs for runners?

Our strength programs are built by our in-house strength and conditioning coach to enhance your running performance. We focus on improving core stability, leg strength, mobility, and endurance to help you run more efficiently while reducing injury risk.

Injury Prevention & Footwear

I’m struggling with injuries – can you help?

Injury prevention is one of our specialties. We’ll identify potential causes of your injuries, suggest adjustments to your form, and recommend exercises to strengthen key areas of your body. We can also take a diagnosis from a Physiotherapist or other allied health professional and make adjustments that way. We also work with runners with a host of different chronic conditions.

How do I know if my running shoes are right for me?

Shoes are a big deal for many runners - we provide personalised footwear advice during our assessments, ensuring your shoes support your running mechanics. If you’re transitioning to minimalist or barefoot running, we’ll guide you through the process safely.

How do I book a coaching call or running assessment?

Booking is easy! Visit our booking page to select your preferred service, and we’ll arrange a time that suits you.

Where are you located?

Currently Mitch and Tom are located in the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast regions in Queensland. Fortunately all of our services are virtual, (with the exception of the in-person assessments). We have clients all over Australia such as Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane. Our strength classes and coaching takes place primarily on Zoom.

What should I bring to an in-person running assessment?

Bring your regular running shoes, comfortable workout clothes, water, and any specific concerns you’d like to address. Let us know about these when booking so we can prepare.

How often should I schedule follow-up coaching calls or assessments?

This depends on your goals. Some runners benefit from regular check-ins (fortnightly or monthly), while others schedule sessions as needed to review progress or adjust their training. If you're a Wild Blue Premium member, using WhatsApp you can have daily check ins as you need.

How do I connect with the Wild Blue Performance community?

Our community is located on Strava and WhatsApp. You'll get invited to these exclusive groups during your initial onboarding with Mitch or Tom. Within WhatsApp you will see the Wild Blue community as a whole, and also sub-communities such as those living in major cities such as Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane.

How much does your program cost?

Our comprehensive premium program, which includes all aspects of training, is $80 per week. We also have 2 other plans at $50/week each which can be tailored to your needs. You can find those details on our Membership page.

What commitments are involved in your program?

We ask runners to stick to their personalised running plans, attend 2 strength classes per week, and complete prescribed foot health exercises. However, we tailor the program to fit your lifestyle and flexibility.

Is there a minimum term for your program?

No, it’s a flexible program that can be ceased at the discretion of our runners. We like to be flexible as running should fit in and around your lifestyle.

"I had an amazing experience training with Mitch and Tom for my first half marathon! Their coaching programs, which included two running programs and two weekly strength classes, were fantastic for building endurance, staying consistent, and preventing injuries.
